Day 3 – Session 3 of Beds County 2025

Thirty four of our swimmers took the plunge on the third day of the Beds County championships which yielded two County titles and nine individual medals. The day was crowned by two of our young girl teams winning their age group’s 200m Medley relays.

Winners: 10/11 Year Girls 200m Medley Team

 

Lucy Biscoe, Dorothy Goode, Ruth Biscoe and Sophie Lapucha came together to win their 10/11 years age group. In the individual events, Ruth Biscoe won bronze for her 200m IM and was 5th over both 100m Backstroke and 100m Butterfly. Her younger sister Lucy was 4th in the backstroke final and 5th in the IM. Following their heats of the 100m Backstroke, Sophie Lapucha was placed 10th, Dorothy Gouda 13th and Freya Strange 17th.

12/13 Years 200m Medley Team Winners

 

The Girls 12/13 years relay comprised Olivia Piaskowska, Alice Buckingham, Violet Rhodes and Alanna Njawaya. Alice  won three individual golds (100 Back, 100 Fly and 200 IM) in the 12 years’ age group. Mary Battersby was just 0.31 seconds away from the bronze in the backstroke, with  Zuzanna Walaszek just missing the final by one place and Tilly Scrivener finishing 14th. Inaaya Sampong came 7th in her 100m Butterfly final. Ella Kolobius was 9th in the 200m IM ahead of Zuzanna in 12th and Inaaya in 13th place.

Both Olivia Piaskowsa and Violet Rhodes made the finals of their 13  years’ 100m Backstroke and Butterfly. The Backstroke heats saw Alanna finish 20th, Katie Biscoe 21st and Thea Slater 25th.

In the 10/11-years Boys, Leonn Stark swam in three events, his best performance coming with a 5th place in his 50m Breaststroke final. Adam Hanif and Jaden Amusa were placed 19th and 21st in the Breaststroke heats.

 In his first County individual events, Tyler Lavender came in the top 20 in both his 12 years’ 50m and 200m Freestyle.

Maxim Collinson

Maxim Collinson  won the Boys’13 years 50m Breaststroke whilst Elliot Bown finished 6th in the 14 years’ and George Rhodes 6th in the 15 years’ final. In  the heats Owain Roberts was placed 10th and Arnold Canares 18th  fastest in the 16 years’ age group.

Ethan Huntley

Ethan Huntley won the 14 years’ silver (200m Freestyle) and bronze (50m Freestyle) with Jack Canham touching 5th in the longer race.

The 200m Freestyle heat declared winner event saw George Rhodes being placed 11th in the 15 years’ age group whilst Owain Roberts was 5th in the 16 years’ age group. In their 50m Breaststroke George Rhodes was 6th in his final with Owain Roberts placed 10th in the heats ahead of Arnold Canares in 18th.

In the girls’ 100n Backstroke Kayln Sampong was 12th amongst the 14 year olds with Lauren Tough 13th amongst the 15 year olds. Lauren finished 6th in her 100m Butterfly final.

Matt Wright won the 17 years and overs 50m and 200m Freestyle and in so doing retained the Senior County titles that he won in 2024.

Each of the Boys relays, in the 10/11 years’ (Jaden Amusa, Adam Hanif, Leonn Stark & Elijah Unsworth), 12/ 13 years’ (Tymoteusz Sikorsky, Maximillian Petravich, Maxim Collinson & Tyler Lavender) and 14/15 years’ (Yves Royall, George Rhodes, Ethan Huntley & Jack Canham) finished 5th in their respective age groups.
