A squad of eight Team Luton swimmers travelled to the three day East Region championship event held in Norwich, having qualified for over 30 events between them.
This was the Performance squad’s first long course racing opportunity of the 2017/18 season and saw the swimmers post several PBs . Chantal Smith claimed a Bronze Medal in the Ladies 800m Freestyle and 8th place in the 200m Freestyle. Chiara Rogers, aged 14 years, the youngest in the final of the Ladies 200m Breaststroke finished in 6th place whilst Celyn Walmsley claimed 8th in the 400m Individual Medley.
“Overall a solid weekend of racing that enabled us to identify areas to improve on for our next competition”, commented Head Coach Adam Taylor. “We look forward to welcoming all the clubs racing at our own November meet along with preparing for some FAST swimming at Central Beds Christmas Cracker and the Winter Nationals over the coming weeks.”
A big well done to Chantal Smith, Celyn Walmsley, Ellie King, Abbie Barnwell, Chiara Rogers, Anna Fallon, Freddie Symonds and Rhys Davidson.
