Dave Wright Regains National Masters Title
Congratulations to Dave Wright who claimed the gold medal in his 200m Butterfly at the Swim England National Masters. Read here for further details.
Medal Winning And Record Breaking Swims At Barnet’s Masters Meet
Michelle Neal, Karen MacKenzie, John O’Rourke and Alastair Gibb collected nine medals between them, breaking four Club Masters’ records in the process.
Karen won five of the medals with “former Borough champion” John O’Rourke our other gold medalist as detailed in the full report.
Open Water Successes Over A 50 Year Age Range
The 2023 Open Water East Region Championships saw eight of the Club’s swimmers competing. Spanning a fifty year age range, they enjoyed success at both county and regional level, over distances from 1K to 5K.
Lyla Howard and Talia Staines both qualified for the National Open Water Championships to be held at the end of July, as mentioned in the full report.

A 47 year difference in age but only 37 seconds apart; both Dave & Matt were crowned 200m Fly champions at the 2023 GB Masters.

Our Masters were in fine form at the South East Long Course Masters Championships.
Three National Masters Titles For Graham Powell
Graham Powell claimed six medals, three Eastern Region and five Beds Masters record from his six swims at the English National Masters.
However the ten – strong squad all produced notable performances. Dave Wright was our other medal winner as a total of seven Beds County and twelve Club Masters records were broken.
