2018 – A great year for Team Luton

2018 was a great year for Team Luton. Our new Head Coach, Rikki Morris, joined us right at the start of the New Year. He has already used his vast experience of swimming to move the club forward. An increasing number of coaches and poolside helpers ensure that swimmers at all levels are improving their skills and are training well.  This has translated into great success in the pool at Club, County, Regional and National level.

The club has also benefited from an increasing number of people volunteering to help the club in many different ways. Our thanks go to each and every one of them. Click here for our full report.

Congratulations to the whole of the club for a great 2018 – we look forward excitedly to 2019.

With 14 Senior and 11 Junior County titles, plus one new Senior County record being set, it was a hugely successful performance.

In addition to all the medals and titles, from 350 swims across the 2 weekends we came away with 293 personal best times, a staggering  personal best percentage of 84%.

Congratulations to all our swimmers and thanks to our coaches and the parents for your invaluable support and encouragement.

5 British & English Summer National Finalists!

Congratulations to Chiara Rogers, Celyn Walmsley, Chantal Smith , Nicola Pasquire and Matthew Wright for your swims up in Sheffield bringing Team Luton’s  2016/17 season to a highly successful conclusion.

Finals and top ten places were secured by all, topped off by Matthew winning Gold in the English 400m Freestyle, albeit representing Bath University where he has just finished his first year’s studies. Read here for a full report.

The fantastic results are testament to all of the hours put in by our swimmers and all of our coaching staff. It was also a fitting end to  Adam Taylor’s first year as Head Coach coming just after the club recognised all of its up and coming swimmers, with over 120 club records established over the last year.

Well done everyone!

Our younger swimmers were in spectacular form over the second May Bank Holiday weekend competing over in Norwich.

Rhys Davidson won a gold, a silver and two bronze medals with all nine of our swimmers each recording long course personal best times (or finishing within a fraction of a second of them).

As Adam Taylor commented, “All swimmers came away with plenty of process goals to work on into their final competitions of the season. Congratulations to all who competed and represented Team Luton so professionally”.
