Medal Haul at Modernians
Team Luton swimmers recently attended the Modernian Swimming Club 2015 Golden Eagle Meet at Bletchley Leisure Centre. This Level 2 Meet included finals for the 100m and 200m events.
The team came away with 18 golds, 19 silver and 14 bronze medals, along with a range of personal bests across the age groups. CLICK HERE for the full report or go to the Modernians Results page.
National Arena League Round 2
Team Luton hosted the 2nd round of the 2015/2016 National Arena League London at Inspire: Luton Sports Village on 14 November.
In this round Team Luton were swimming against Berkhamsted, Brompton, Enfield Swim Squad B, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin, Potters Bar and Saxon Crown.
After eighteen events Team Luton were placed in 4th position with only 8 points between them and the third placed team. After the next 8 races the gap was narrowed to only 2 points. With every team member swimming enthusiastically, they managed to move into third position after event 34 and stayed in this position to finish the gala in a commendable 3rd place. East Swimming Short Course Championships
Twelve Team Luton swimmers took part in the East Swimming Short Course Championships over the weekend of 6/7/8 November. The championships are swum as an open competition with everyone swimming in the same age group and a single set of qualifying times.
There was some fast swimming by all, with numerous personal bests and qualifying times for next years Regional Championships. Read the full article HERE.
National Arena League Round 1
This closely fought round saw Team Luton swim against Brompton, Wandsworth, Hemel Hempstead, Borough of Harrow, Barking and Dagenham, Berkhamsted and Greenwich Royals. All the Team Luton swimmers raced with great determination resulting in an amazing 24 personal bests out of 34 individual races.
After the first ten relay races Team Luton clocked a joint third position. With every team member swimming purposefully they managed to maintain the third position after the next sixteen races. With 6 races to go the top five were separated by just 4 points. Ultimately the club finished the gala in a commendable 5th place with only 18 points separating 1st and 5th position. East Region Masters Championships
Team Luton’s Masters swimmers enjoyed incredible success at the 2015 East Region Masters Championships held at Newmarket on 4 October. The swimmers brought home a total of 25 medals, eleven of them gold, and recorded two new County Masters records in the process. Click to read more
Cambridge Grand Prix
Fourteen of Team Luton’s swimmers attended their first open meet of the season in Cambridge at the weekend competing in the Cambridge Swimming Club October Grand Prix. Plenty of personal bests swum and medals won.
