National Arena League Round 2

Team Luton hosted the 2nd round of the 2015/2016 National Arena League London at Inspire: Luton Sports Village on 14 November.

In this round Team Luton were swimming against Berkhamsted, Brompton, Enfield Swim Squad B, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin, Potters Bar and Saxon Crown.

After eighteen events Team Luton were placed in 4th position with only 8 points between them and the third placed team.  After the next 8 races the gap was narrowed to only 2 points.  With every team member swimming enthusiastically, they managed to move into third position after event 34 and stayed in this position to finish the gala in a commendable 3rd place.  In a closely fought gala, Hemel Hempstead turned out winners by 1 point from Brompton.  For a full report CLICK HERE

East Swimming Short Course Championships

Twelve Team Luton swimmers took part in the East Swimming Short Course Championships over the weekend of 6/7/8 November.  The championships are swum as an open competition with everyone swimming in the same age group and a single set of qualifying times.

Welcome to Team Luton

Team Luton Swimming Club is a well-established, friendly and highly successful competitive swimming club based at Inspire: Luton Sports Village.

We encourage everyone starting from their very first local swim meet through to our Performance swimmers competing at Regional and National level.  With seven Performance swimmers qualifying for the 2019 British or National championships and fifteen for the English National Masters, the Club prides itself on providing a supportive club environment that enables all swimmers, regardless of age, to reach their full competitive potential. As of July 2020, our Performance, Masters and Seniors Age Group members held over 120 Beds County long course and short course records on distances ranging from 50m to 1,500m.

Team Luton Excel at National Masters

The eight members from Team Luton’s Masters squad who travelled up to Sheffield for the National Masters swimming championships brought home three silver and five bronze medals, whilst breaking one East Region and six County records.

 All of the squad set personal best times for the year with their strength in depth and versatility being reflected in a total of 26 top ten finishes. For a full report CLICK HERE

National Arena League Round 1

This closely fought round saw Team Luton swim against Brompton, Wandsworth, Hemel Hempstead, Borough of Harrow, Barking and Dagenham, Berkhamsted and Greenwich Royals.  All the Team Luton swimmers raced with great determination resulting in an amazing 24 personal bests out of 34 individual races.

After the first ten relay races Team Luton clocked a joint third position.  With every team member swimming purposefully they managed to maintain the third position after the next sixteen races. With 6 races to go the top five were separated by just 4 points. Ultimately the club finished the gala in a commendable 5th place with only 18 points separating 1st and 5th position.
