Fantastic performances by all of our swimmers contributed to a highly successful 2019 Beds County Championships held over three weekends.
Finishing second in the points tables to Bedford Modernian, we also achieved the second highest medal tally with 87 of our 188 medals being gold. We also brought home 30 of the 68 individual championship trophies.
Head Coach Rikki Morris was particularly pleased with the progress made by the younger swimmers, including those competing in their first county championships. Read here for the full report.
Team Luton March Long Course Meet 2019 1ER190183
2 March 2019. Updated with reserves for long distance events
23 February 2019. Entries for this meet are now CLOSED.
We are pleased that we have now been able to process all of the entries . Unfortunately we were very over-subscribed and so have had to reject many swimmers to ensure that we stay within the maximum daily time allowance for a gala. We know that this will disappoint those swimmers we have rejected and hope that they can quickly find another gala to help them achieve their goals for this part of the season. Team Luton are holding another Level 1 meet on 20/21 April. This is still open and details are available on this website
Below we have attached the initial accepted and rejected entries for the meet, together with a processing statement which outlines the methodology we used. Please check these carefully – a reminder that our email address for any queries is galas@teamluton.com.
We also include the Schedule of events which now sets out the start times for the afternoon and evening sessions.
During the week we will add the reserve lists for the 800m and 1500m events.

Best Ever Results In GB Masters Team Decathlon
It’s official. The results are finally confirmed. So massive congratulations to both our Female and Male Masters & Seniors who have achieved their best ever placings in the British Team Decathlon competitions.
The Men’s team finished 9th out of 501 teams, up one position from 2017, to once again be the highest place Men’s club in the East Region.
Our Ladies, who competed in far fewer qualifying races, meanwhile broke into the top 100 for the first time to finish 92nd out of 435 teams. They were the third highest Bedfordshire Masters club, behind South Beds Masters and Flitwick.

2018 – A great year for Team Luton
2018 was a great year for Team Luton. Our new Head Coach, Rikki Morris, joined us right at the start of the New Year. He has already used his vast experience of swimming to move the club forward. An increasing number of coaches and poolside helpers ensure that swimmers at all levels are improving their skills and are training well. This has translated into great success in the pool at Club, County, Regional and National level.
The club has also benefited from an increasing number of people volunteering to help the club in many different ways. Our thanks go to each and every one of them. Click here for our full report.
Congratulations to the whole of the club for a great 2018 – we look forward excitedly to 2019.

8th In NASL London League Division 1
After a close battle in the promotion play-off final round, we have finished in 8th place in London Division 1 of the 2018 National Arena Swim League, two places higher than in 2017.
With 186 points in the final gala round we finished 7th, just 9 points behind 6th placed Barking & Dagenham but 18 points ahead of Potters Bar. Reflecting the closely fought contest we ended the 2018 competition with the same number of league points, 32, as Potter Bar. However, over the three rounds they scored 647 points, just 14 more points than us, for them to finish 7th overall.
The NASL team competition provided the arena for Celyn Walmsley to claim her third Beds County Senior record of the year, following the Club’s appointment of Rikki Morris as our Head Coach. It was also an opportunity for our youngsters to experience the special excitement and adrenalin that comes with relay races. All good practice for the Beds County Championships that take place early in 2019.
